Spring into Summer: Walk with Ease Program

posted on 3/12/24

Spring into Summer is a community-based physical activity initiative to promote active living in Iowa. This self-directed version of the Walk with Ease program guides adults through the program through email and an online portal. Alternative group and hybrid formats are also available, but the online version enables access for everyone.

Key Features

  • Free online access to Walk with Ease
  • 6-week self-guided program
  • Video training and resources
  • Build healthy habits!

Start Dates

The Spring into Summer campaign runs from April 1 to June 30. You can sign up anytime during this window.

Who is it For?

The Spring into Summer initiative is powered by the evidence-based Walk with Ease program developed by the National Arthritis Foundation. While originally developed for arthritis care, it is now endorsed by the CDC as a  Lifestyle Management Program, suitable for all adults. The Wellness Works team has further customized the program to enable it to be used in community and worksite settings. Thus, the programming is relevant for all adults interested in establishing habits for walking and physical activity.

Is it Free?

The Walk with Ease (WWE) program is provided for free as part of an ongoing statewide campaign to promote physical activity and healthy living in Iowa. Programming targets goals of the Healthy Iowans initiative as well as the national ‘Active People Healthy Nation’ campaign.
