The purpose of Chapter 40 of the Wapello County Code, the Zoning Ordinance, is to assist in protecting the health, safety, and general welfare of Wapello County’s residents through the regulation of land use within the unincorporated areas of Wapello County. The development, adoption, and enforcement of zoning regulations are essential to the successful and controlled growth of Wapello County.
Subdivision Regulations are found in Chapter 41 of the Wapello County Code of Ordinance and enforced by the Planning and Zoning Department. Wapello County has adopted these regulations as minimum requirements for the regulation and control of land subdivision within the unincorporated area of the county.
In 2003 Wapello County passed and adopted a Construction Code for all unincorporated areas in the county.
